Honor Killing as a religious right

Western Supporters of Islam like to deny reality they post this image and ignore the reality of religious differences and adherence to the basic texts of Islam – in the same way Christians routinely ignore the basic texts of their religion.

On the question of “Honor Killing”:

Sikander Ziad Hashmi, an imam with the Islamic Society of Kingston, challenged readers of Canada’s National Post Full Commentonline to find one classical Islamic religious text that endorses the murder of a family member to preserve honour. PointdeBascule producedn TWO/

1. “Umdat al-Saliq” or “Reliance of the Traveller”, a 14th century manual of Islamic law certified reliable by Cairo’s renowned al-Azhar University, (and endorsed by the Muslim Brotherhood-linked International Institute of Islamic Thought) in 1991, states:  “retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right” EXCEPT when “a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers)” kills their “offspring, or offspring’s offspring” (section o1.1-2).

2. “Resaleh Towzih Al-Massael” by Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (1902-1989), published in 1961 states: under “conditions of retaliation” (section 2.3 of Appendix II) that there is no penalty for a father who kills his child, the father will simply not be punished under Islamic law. A killer is punished if: “The slayer is not the father of the slain, nor the parental grandfather (apparently)”.

 

Clearly there are two authoritative sources – neither of which are the the Qur’an – which support Honor Killing.  They are accepted by the Islamic legal authorities in the same way the Torah & Midrash are accepted by Jewish authorities.

For Christians, there are numerous points deviation from the Synoptic Gospels – for example prohibitions against killing but Inquisitions and Crusades abound in their history.  Both religions ignore prohibitions on forced conversion.  Christians routinely get divorced – but both Jesus & Paul said it was not allowed … that remarriage was adultery … yet adulterers are the most religious members of Churches.

Granted, the adultery is not as bad as the killing, but they then say they oppose abortion – and would rather see the woman die, then have a procedure which could save her life (Supreme Court put an end to that nonsense).  They oppose Same Sex marriage, when Jesus said everyone was entitled to marry and … in a context where there is absolutely no biblical prohibition against same sex marriage – though there is one (repeated several times) against bi-sexuality on the part of men … and ONLY MEN!

Yep … there is something wrong with priorities – Islam has no respect for life (hence suicide bombers who kill innocent women & children – in violation of Qur’an admonition against the killing of innocents – are exempted as committing an act of self-sacrifice)… And violate their own religious mandates do so while questioning others – what was it about the mot in your eye while commenting on the other guy’s eye?

Fortunately for me, I really don’t give a damned who goes where in the next life – so long as these idiots don’t go where I’m going, … cause that would really make the afterlife a living Hell.
